Hesaarghatta Rainfall Analysis Homepage

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), established in 1875, is India’s primary repository for weather data. The IMD provides high spatial resolution (0.25X0.25 degree) daily gridded rainfall data covering India from 1901 to 2022. This dataset is utilized for comprehensive rainfall analysis.

Analysis of 122 years of IMD’s Hesarghatta catchment rainfall for Pre-monsoon, South-east monsoon and North-east monsoon shows 2021 and 2022 as record rainfall years. The Winter Season, with very little rainfall, shows 1908 as the highest, with 2021 rainfall being the fifth highest. In terms of annual rainfall, 2022 is the highest.
